What is the % change in the area of a rectangle if its length increases by a third and its width decreases by a fourth?

a. 8.33% increase
b. 6.25% increase
c. 2.2% decrease
d. 0% increase

new length = 1+1/3 = 4/3L
new width = 1-1/4 = 3/4B

no increase

0% increase

the fastest way is using the formula

a-b-ab/100 where a is the value that increases and b is the value that decreases. so 33.33 - 25 - 33.33* 25/100 = 0%

The fastest way: Pnew=Pold x (3/4) * (4/3).....it took me 3 seconds :-D
