(1) The 5th root of w is 64.
==>$$w^1^/^5 = 64$$
==>$$w^1^/^5 = 2^6$$
==>$$w^1^/^5 = 2^6^*^5^/^5$$
==>$$w^1^/^5 = 2^3^0^/^5$$
==> $$w = 2^3^0$$
==> Sufficient

(2) The 15th root of w is 4.
==>$$w^1^/^1^5 = 4$$
==>>$$w^1^/^1^5 = 4^1^5^/^1^5$$
==> $$w = 4^1^5$$
==> Sufficient

Hence, Ans: D

(w)^1/5 = 4^3

w = (4^3)^5 = 4^15

(w)^1/3 = 4^5

Sufficient

(2)

(w)^1/15 = 4

w = 4^15

(w)^1/3 = 4^5

Sufficient

What is the cube root of w ?
(1) The 5th root of w is 64.
(2) The 15th root of w is 4.

A. Statement (1) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (2) alone is not sufficient.
B. Statement (2) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (1) alone is not sufficient.
C. BOTH statements TOGETHER are sufficient, but NEITHER statement ALONE is
sufficient.
D. EACH statement ALONE is sufficient.
E. Statements (1) and (2) TOGETHER are NOT sufficient.

a w^(1/5) = 64

w = 64^5 = (4^3)^5

w^(1/3) = 4^5 Hence sufficient.

b w^(1/15) = 4

w = 4^ 15

w^(1/3) = 4^5. Hence sufficient.
