B. 0.0625
C. 0.16

E. 0.5

(1/4)² = (1/4)(1/4)= 1/16

Two approaches from here.

APPROACH #1: use long division to divide 16 into 1 to get 1/16 = 0.0625

APPROACH #2: recognize that 1/100 < 1/16 < 1/10
In other words: 0.01 < 1/16 < 0.1
Only one answer choice (B) lies between 0.01 and 0.1

\(\frac{1}{4} = 0.25\)

Next use the squaring trick with units digit 5 ( https://www.math.hmc.edu/funfacts/ffiles/10003.1.shtml )

\(0.25^2 = 0.0625\)

So, Answer will be (B) 0.0625

Since 1/4 = 0.25, we have:

(0.25)^2 = 0.25 x 0.25 = 0.0625
