(1) t = 9/4
(2) t = (-3/2)^2

t=9/2=4.5 then greatest integer less than t is 4
t=(-3/2)^2=2.25 then 2 is greatest int less than 2.25

so each statement is enough alone imo

actually both gives you t= 9/4

unless theres a trick, it should be D

both statements give you t=9/4, which is just over 2. The largest integer not bigger then t is 1

so when you divide 9/4 = 2.85 so the greatest integer less than 2.85 is 2? is this correct? Answer D

Both statements give the same result which is 9/4. greatest integer less than 9/4 will be 2. Is there some hitch there or the question is downright easy :roll:

Yes, that's correct: both statements say that t = 9/4 =2 1/4, the greatest integer less than t is 2.
