There are many benefits to timing your practice, including:
When the events are mutualy exclusive it means that the occurence of A excludes or precludes , if you want, the occurence of B or they can not happen both at the same time. In other words there is not intersection of the two circles if you use Venn diagrams. If the events are independent then it means that they can both occur at the same time and the prob is 0.8x0.6=0.48. In this case it is not provided if the events are mutually exclusive or not so we can not say the prob of both A and B occuring at the same time.
