What is the remainder when positive Integer n is divided by [#permalink]

What is the remainder when positive Integer n is divided by 6 ?

1. n is multiple of 5
2. n is multiple of 12

My ans was E .coz

St 1 : n is multiple of 5 , could be anything
Consider n = 25 - then 25/6 - result in 1
if n = 30 - then 30/6 - 5
so we cant be sure of hence Insufficient

St 2 : n is multiple of 12
This opens up the choices wide open -
Remainder could be any even integer for the most part .

Hence i thought St2 was insufficient as well .

However , the Ans turned out to be B ,ie St2

Can someone pls explain ??

B it is

St1:
5x1=5--> 5/6--> R=2
5x2=10--> 10/6--R=4
.
.
.
Remainder is variable, St1: INSUFF

St2:
12x1=12-->12/6-->R=0
12x2=24-->24/6-->R=0
12x3=36-->36/6-->R=0
.
.
.
Remainder will always be 0, St2: SUFF

Aaah .. What was i thinking

.

I think i confused Remainder with the Quotient ..(**Grr why do i this sometimes when i am running out of time **)
