What is the remainder when the positive integer x is divided by 6?

1) when x is divided by 2, the remainder is 1 and when x is divided by 3 the remainder is 0

2) when x is divided by 12 the remainder is 3

D - both are sufficient
stmt 1 - x is multiple of 3 but not of 2, therefore x is not a multiple of 6. Every multiple of 3 (if not a multiple of 6, therefore every odd multiple of 3), when divided by 6, has a remainder of 3. Sufficient

Stmt 2 - if x/12 has a remainder of 3, then x/6 would also have a remainder of 3. The quotient would be different (twice) but the remainder would be the same. Sufficient

I'll vote for D.

Statement 1:
x=2n+1; x: 0, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21
x=3n; x: 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21...
values that match both sets: 3, 9, 15, 21...
if x/6, remainder = 3, 3, 3, 3
Sufficient.

Statement 2:
x=12n+3; tells me x:15, 27, 39, 51, 63...
when x/6, remainder is: 3, 3, 3, 3, 3...
Sufficient.
