What is the value of b + c?

1) ab + cd + ac + bd = 6
2) a + d = 4

----------------------------------
For 1), how can you factor:

b(a+d) + c(a+d) = 6

into

(a+d) (b+c) = 6?

BTW, what level is this Q? Thanks!

by + cy = y(b+c) ... right?

so just think of (a+d) as the y in the example above and you'll get:
b(a+d) + c(a+d) = (a+d) (b+c)
