What is the value of y?

(1) 3|(x^2)–4|=y–2

(2) |(3–y)|=11

C.
1st statement says that y is positive. But can't see its value.
2nd statement says that absolute value of (3-y) is 11; but we do not know either y is positive or negative.
By taking both together we can find y's value.

1st statement says that y is positive.
Since y is positive absolute value of (3-y) => y-3 =11 it can not be (3-y) becauseif 3-y=11; y becomes -8; but we know that y is positive.
