(1) 4x^2-4x+1=0

(2) 4x^2-1=0

What is value of x?

(1) 4x^2-4x+1=0 --> (2x-1)^2=0 --> 2x-1=0 --> x=\frac{1}{2}. Sufficient.

(2) 4x^2-1=0 --> x^2=\frac{1}{4} --> x=-\frac{1}{2} or x=\frac{1}{2}. Not sufficient.

Answer: A.

(a-b)^2=a^2-2ab+b^2;
(2x-1)^2=(2x)^2-2*2x+1^2=4x^2-4x+1.
