(A) 0
(B) 50
(C) 450
(D) 495
(E) 500

1/10 of 5,000 is 1/10*5000=500;
1/10 percent of 5,000 is 1/10*1/100*5,000=5;

1/10 percent of 5,000 is subtracted from 1/10 of 5,000 is 500-5=495.

Answer: D.

Hope it's clear.

1/10 = 0.1

0.1 per cent is equal to 1 per thousand

1 per thousand of 5000 = 5

\(\frac{1}{10} of 5000 = 500\)

so 500 - 5 = 495 = Answer = D

1/10 of 5000= 500
and
5000×1/10% or 0.1%= 5
so 500-5=495
