When n = 100x + 10y + z, function f is defined as f(n) = (2^x)(3^y)(5^z). If f(v) = 9f(u), what is v minus u?

i get 20 as well..

basically..

100x...+ 10y....+z

2^x 3^y 5^z

9*f(u)=3^2f(u).. => 2^x*100 +3^(Y+2)*10 + 5^z - [f(u)=2^100x+3^y*10+5^z]..basically all terms cancel except for (Y+2)10=the y cancels out..leaving behind 20..
