When the price of a pen drive decreased by 10%, Pat is able to buy 2 more pen drives for \$360. What is the new price of 10 pen drives?

A. 20
B. 22
C. 200
D. 12
E. 180

E. 180.
x=old price
n = number of pendrives can be purchased at x price

before; xn=360
after; x(n+2) = 400
solving the above equations, x=20 and n=18
so, new price = 10 (1-0.1) x= 10 (0.9) 20 = 180

Original = x
New = 0.9x

360/x + 2 = 360/0.9x
x = 20

New price = 18
10 pen drives = 180 (E)

first time I got a correct answer in a question of this nature!

x'*q'=x*q
q'=q+2
x'=0.9x
solve and get q
then it's easy
