when to cancel a score? [#permalink] New post 31 May 2006, 08:55
Hi Everyone,

Does anyone have a good way to decide whether to cancel a score? It would be good if there was some objective way to make the decision, rather than going by gut feeling, since the gut is often wrong.

The only time I would cancel a score is if I got sick during the exam and was unable to complete the math or the verbal sections - I'm talking like I had to go throw up on question 15 and never came back until the test was over.

Otherwise, you have no idea how you did.

I thought I was screwing up the math during mine and doing terribly again, so I stopped trying very hard around question 30... in the end I got a 730. Who knows what I might have had if I hand't? Lesson: You have NO IDEA how you are doing....

I totally agree with rhyme, the only reason to cancel is only if you didn't manage to complete the test as you are supposed to, e.g. got sick, had to leave the test center due to an act of god etc. No other reason would justify, for me, cancelling your scores.
