From stem:

possible values for x ---> 2,7,12,17,22,27 ...

x/7 = integer ?

statement 1

x is a prime number.

x can be 7 or 17

insufficient

statement 2

x+3 is a multiple of 10

x can be 7 or 17

insufficient

both statements

x can be 7 or 17

the answer is (E)

I messed this one by trying to solve the Q by equations...

your idea of assigning values to X is the easier way..
