Where in the world have GMATClubbers been? [#permalink]

I know that many top b-schools are looking for applicants with international experience and a global outlook. This is reflected in some essay questions. I figured this would be a fun way to see where everybody has been, how many times, and why (i.e. purpose of trip if not for vacation: volunteer, work, friends, family, study). Here it goes! USA - 25 states (home) Egypt Mauritius (honeymoon) Morocco China Hong Kong India Indonesia Japan Macau Malaysia Singapore Taiwan - 2x (friends, volunteer) Thailand - 2x (friends) Australia British Virgin Islands Costa Rica (friends) Puerto Rico The Bahamas US Virgin Islands Austria Belgium Denmark France - 2x Germany Gibraltar Italy (lived, studied) Netherlands Russia Slovenia Spain - 2x Sweden Switzerland England - 2x (vacation, work) Vatican City Bahrain Israel - 2x (educational program, friends, family) Jordan Oman United Arab Emirates Canada - 4x (vacation, work) Mexico - 2x Argentina (friends) Brazil Uruguay

USA - 10 states (lived, studied) India - Permanent Home Austria Belgium France - (lived) Germany Italy (lived) Netherlands Russia Czech Republic Spain Switzerland England Vatican City Israel Canada - (lived, worked) Mexico Haiti Ivory Coast (lived) Dominican Republic I actually have a very simple goal - to see more countries than my age. Given that I am a little behind right now 25 vs 20

Ivory Coast....WOW. Very very very interesting! Tell me a little about that. How long did you live there? What was there to do for fun?

This was many moons ago ... from 87-89. At the time Ivory Coast was a stable and prosperous country (By West African Standards). I was very young (4-7) and hence dont remember much aside from being at the beautiful beaches every weekend and having the locals get us fresh coconuts. We would ask them for 3 and they would climb up the trees and get em for us pronto.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LionClearly the lion roams the Northern Ivory Coast. You are lucky you never went camping assuming there were no lions! sm332 wrote: zoos dont count

maybe there were some but never really registered. Given that there wasnt a tremendous amount to do I would have thought we would have gone to see Lions. I will check with my folks tonight and provide an update.

I haven't been too many places. I've been to most states on the US coasts, only a few on the interior. Italy France UK (for like 1 afternoon because our plane home got delayed) Mexico Canada Jamaica
Clearly I need to catch up.
