Where should i apply and what are my chances? [#permalink] New post 25 May 2012, 05:03
Hello

I'm graduating this June and am interested in applying for the Masters in Finance Course at LSE or Warwick 2013. The Masters in Management Course at LBS also seems like a brilliant course. My main interest is Finance but a course in Management would also do. I'm mainly looking for the experience of going to a really good B-School.

I've been a fairly good student till high school. I scored 87% in the 10th grade and 83% in the 12th. However while studying engineering for the past 4 years, I havent been able to keep up the score and my grades only average out at 55%. With lot of hardwork, I'm expecting a distinction in the final semester.
I plan to give the GMAT in August and am aiming at a score of 720-750.

I have also led the Community Service Committee at college as Creative Head and have internship experience at a leading manufacturing company. Volunteered and held leadership positions at AIESEC

Do i stand a chance in applying to any of these colleges?
Any other colleges/universities that I should consider?

What else can i do to improve my application?
Will taking the CFA Level 1 exams or doing a short course in Finance help? I have time till next year.

Would really appreciate any advice!

You should take your GMAT first before considering your options. If you have your heart set on a specific school then you really need to work on your profile. Take extra classes to boost your GPA. Work really hard to get ABOVE the median GMAT score.
