About me I'm an 29, non-EU with 7 years of work experience in financial IT, including 3 years of in Switzerland. I know a bit of German but not much!
Post MBA, I would like to move into Business Development or Consulting role in Internet/Technology in Western Europe.
So my story is that I had applied in couple of schools and have got final offers from IESE, IE, HEC, and St Gallen($$). I have been thinking for last few weeks and have narrowed down to IESE and St.Gallen. Any tips?? I would really appreciate views from some of the experts here.
I think among the two, the former is much better. Though I am from non-EU region, I have heard some good things about the school. I am also thinking of applying here. About St. gallen, well, personally, I haven;t heard of it much and neither does it rank well in the international rankings.
However, in case you are planning to stay in Germany or nearby, you could also look at HEC Paris or maybe IMD
I don't know much about HEC and St Gallen. HEC is well regarded. I personally have not done much research. There seems to be much interest on this forum for St Gallen. I believe that primarily stems from a desire for a career in Switzerland, other German speaking regions.
IESE is a great school with world-class faculty who are thought leaders and well recognized across the world in their respective field. Only reason I didn't apply was its a two year program and I was interested in only one year programs.
IE has great overall reputation across Europe and LatAm.
In deciding, think about where you want to work after school, and where you can work. Language will inevitably be an issue, unless you speak/read/write fluent business language in those countries. All those schools are regional in nature, with a stronger local company presence. Your opportunity will be limited IESE if you aren't fluent in Spanish.
