Agree with D. Children are surprised to learn that most of these bees are solitary insects and hence, cannot be social.

Reasoning:Which best completes the passage? The goals mentioned in the second sentence are connected to the selection of information contained in the book. Aside from statistics and photographs, the passage informs us, the book also contains information that surprises children: most bee species are comprised of solitary insects. The author of the book’s goal, then, is to expand knowledge of the invertebrate world in a way that is surprising because it challenges what children think they know about bees.

got d as well.
diversity of insects is already covered. the surprising aspect is that insects are solitary.
