Q = 0.111111 + 0.010101 + 0.001001001 = 0.122

A = 0.1

How does one solve this quickly ? Did you calculate each fraction? IS there a way to quickly do this?

my experiance in comparing fraction says .... do one of two things
covert everything to common denominator
OR
covert everything to decimals

in this case converting to common denominator is tough ... and these fractions are simple ones ... we know 1/10 and 1/9
all you need todo is convert 1/99, 1/999 and 1/8 .... option D and E are already eliminated ....

Closest options for the above question are :
(A) and (B)

now say x=\frac{1}{9} + \frac{1}{99} + \frac{1}{999}
x-1/9=\frac{1}{99} + \frac{1}{999}
x-1/10 = \frac{1}{90} + \frac{1}{99} + \frac{1}{999}

hence x-1/10 > x-1/9 => 1/9 is closest
