Answer C.

Avg = [(x+2)^2 + (x-2)^2] / 2

Expanding and simplifying, (x^2 + 4x + 4 + x^2 - 4x + 4 ) / 2 = x^2 + 4

this was taken from a powerprep question

Hi,

\(\frac{(x+2)^2 + (x-2)^2}2\)
\(=\frac{(x^2+2x+4) + (x^2-2x+4)}2\)
\(=x^2+4\)

Answer (C)

Answer: C

The arithmetic mean is the sum of the elements divided by the number of elements.
