Which of the following most logically completes the argument?
The irradiation of food kills bacteria and thus retards spoilage. However, it also lowers the nutritional value of many foods. For example, irradiation destroys a significant percentage of whatever vitamin B1 a food may contain. Proponents of irradiation point out that irradiation is no worse in this respect than cooking. However, this fact is either beside the point, since much irradiated food is eaten raw, or else misleading, since _______.

I would go with C bcoz this seems to convince us that proponents are misleading.Proponents made a comparison of irradiation with cooking and option (C) seems to say that such comparison cannot be made because of each of them have different use.(E) is wrong because the option should convince that irradiation is not better than cooking.But (E) does not add anything to this.(C) atleast rules out such comparison.I hope I'm correct.What is the OA ?

I went with E is well....
the problem with C is that it does in fact does rule out the comparison, but we are not looking for this. We already have this in the question.. the question is asking for us to provide a statement which is 'misleading'.. so I'm going w/ E..

I go for C as well.
This question uses analogy. It is trying to compare irradiation with cooking. But these things are not really comparable as is conveyed by C.
