Hello,
I've heard back from 4/5 schools that I've applied to. I got accepted to these full time programs:
- College of William and Mary (Mason)
- University of Pittsburgh (Katz)
- Vanderbilt University (Owen)
- Michigan State (Broad)
(Currently waiting for a decision from University of Maryland (Smith))
Now, this puts me in a dilemna as where I should go. I have a background in finance and want to continue in it. Currently, I'm leaning toward Michigan State. Any suggestions......
Thanks,

Vandy does have great placement in finance, so if that's where your interests lie I would not hesitate to go there.
I am applying to Vandy and would pick Owen ahead of some schools that are ranked a few spots ahead of them primarily because of their strong ties in finance.

Will have 36 months work exp. (JPMorgan Chase)

Did you visit each campus? If so, what did you think of Owen's facilities?

jinkazama, if it helps I visited Owen and loved it! The people and profs there are great and Nashville is a great area to live in. As for Maryland, I went there for Ugrad. The school itself is not bad, however it is not a stretch to say the surrounding area is basically the ghetto. I would strike that from your list, even if you are accepted. Also Smith really is solid in only IT. I would choose Owen over Broad solely because of the weather, haha, too cold in MI. If you attend Owen maybe I will see you there next semester?

What are everyone's thoughts on applying to owen in round 3? Is it as tough as applying to other schools in round 3?
I'd like to visit the school, get to know students, but frankly won't have time before the round 2 deadline...thanks!

Thanks,
Jinkazama,
Given your finance goals, I think Vandy might be your best bet. They place a higher percentage of MBAs in finance, though Maryland is not far behind. If you look at Vandy's top recruiters you see more finance firms than you do for Maryland.
Good luck,

What about between Michigan State and Vandy. Seems like Michigan State has better career placement.

What I meant was that you should choose Vandy over Michigan State as well. Take a look at the top ten recruiting companies at Vandy and Michigan State (see BW Online). Vandy is clearly the more finance-oriented place.
