Which Program? [#permalink] New post 16 Oct 2011, 11:15
Hello,
I am confused whether I should apply to a 1 year or the traditional 2 year program. I have around 3 years of entrepreneurial experience, and would be returning to my business. What's the difference between the 2 programs?
Also, Should I pursue the general MBA or an international MBA or a dual degree?
Thanks!!!

A 2-year program offers you an opportunity to do a summer internship between your 1st and 2nd year of b-school. THis is a great chance for those who want to branch out of their prior career and learn a new industry (for example, a banker before b-school wants to try consulting during the summer internship). A 1-year program doesn't offer you that leisure, but pros do include less tuition paid and quicker turnaround time for the degree. Question you have to ask yourself is why get this MBA if you're going back to your own business? Does your own business require you to go through an MBA? An MBA is really for those who want to advance in the corporate ladder and learn the business side of things. If you're perfectly fine at your own company, I really don't see the point of obtaining this degree and paying out $50k for it. If you just want to learn, you can get the same learning through a local college.

Thanks for the reply!
At this stage, I need the MBA to take my business to the next level.
I will definitely consider your suggestions. Thanks again!
