24 Jun 2010, 09:08
I found this website by chance and I love it... I conisder to take ph.d in accounting for year 2011. I never do research before, so I'd like to find universities that is more focus on teaching than research. so can I get such information through internet?
Also which choice is better? Ph.d in accounting or ph.d in finance? what's the difference between these two?
Thanks. Wait for your response and thank you for your time in advance;)

You might want to take a look at the Public Accounting Report's doctoral rankings; they do this yearly in December, so latest should be 2009. However, regardless of what you actually want to end up doing, any Ph.D. program will put a very strong emphasis on research.
As far as Accounting vs. Finance goes, the subjects and focus are usually rather different. A good starting point might be to look at professor bios and research interests at just about any school.
