I go with D, the impact that insourcing will have is that there will be less interacting with american students

thus asking a question discussing interactions between them will help evaluate the authors claim

How can it be C ?

Why we are evaluating whether insourcing has really declined ? Question already assumed that. It is asking us to evaluate the impact of decreased insourcing which is less interaction with foreign students and less cultural exchange.

I'll choose D.

I see your point Swagat. Good catch.

Here we need a choice which will help us evaluate the impact than what is stated already.

Any consensus? I think answer C. I see the "impact" as a question of scale. It seems to be implied as "the size of the impact". I grant swagats point but think C would give a greater understanding of the impact or magnitude of the problem. D is answering a somewhat different question in my mind.

Thanks

my choice is between D and E.

I don't really prefer D because D only mentions about the interaction. But it does not mention about the previous science and research damage.

Entire passage talks about decline in student's enrollment. But, choice D talks about non-students who are not related to this argument. I feel the best choise is C.

I will go for D.

Question: evaluating the author’s claim regarding the impact of decreased insourcing in America?

The impact: The de-internationalization of the graduate programs across the country will also negatively affect the global outlook and experience of the American students remaining in those programs; they will not have the opportunity to learn about foreign cultures directly from members of those cultures

How can we evaluate: Is interacting with foreign students the only way to learn about foreign cultures ? Can't the American students learn about other cultures from, say, foreign exchange students?
