1) compare owners to owners only (C),(E) do that.C appears much better of the two.
2)(A) - active so (B) (C),(E) would be out.(D) says as if they were not correct.
3)during has to be used for a period say for the last two decades.Cannot be used directly as in during two decades.

1> C ... A, B and D out for non parallel (singular - owner). C is clearly preferred over E for owners of x instead of x's owners.
2> A ... B and C are passive. E incorrect idiom - depicted to be. D 'as if' is unwarranted.
3> B ... E out 'for' at the end. D is wordy. A uses wrong tense (see the other part of the sentence) C provides a phrase. We need a clause.
