I will go with ‘D’.
‘A’, ‘B’ & ‘E’ has a misplaced modifier

D...

original sentence ---- Widely used in hospitals incorrectly modifies the properties of petroleum jelly......it should modify petroleum jelly.

Of all the choices C and D come....betwen C and D ...D is better....
