Hi olgasu,

Thanks for posting. Regarding Harvard and Stanford, both programs look for diversity in each class and recruit students from a wide range of industries. I recommend not focusing as much on competitive candidates, as applicants change every year and the best step is to put all of your effort towards your application. If you work in marketing, you would not be compared to an individual working in engineering or IT.
