Hello Hjort,
I am wondering if its worth giving the GMAT the 3rd time. I have always scored well in my undergrad and grad days but GMAT is a different story.
I just don't seem to get the knack for GMAT. I scored 600 on my 1st attempt and 550 on my second attempt. I know I have studied hard and tried my level best. I want to pursue a MBA despeartely and I wonder if it will be an unfullfilled dream
I have gathered the courage to prepare myself once again and fight the monster. But I wonder if its worth it. If I score 700 on the GMAT is there a chance of me getting into the top 15 schools? Will my previous scores affect my admission. Below are my stats which may help you answer my question
Age : 31
Sex: Female
Nationality :Indian ( with a green card in the United states)
Occupation: Software engineer
Education : Masters in Electrical and Computer Engg from a US university
Experience: 7 years in the software industry and 2 years a Research Assistant
Have led small groups of engineers. Managed teams from global sites. Managed a supplier.
Extra-cirricular activities:Worked for street children welfare, literarcy awareness programs. Helped underprivileged children by providing monetary help and guidance
Background : I come from a rural background and have gone through severa hardships to reac where Iam today. I have tutored students and worked odd jobs from a very young age to support my education. This is very rare in India. I was the first engineer in the family . Considering my finanical background and beloging to the weaker (fairer?) sex it was not a easy trip. My background is a motivataion for my social work and also for my pursuit for an MBA. I want to give back to teh society. I have tried to become an enterpreneur and have not been successful. I have no business background whatsoever and I am hoping the strong alumni network from business school along with the knowledge will help me.
I would appreciate your feeback . Thanks.
