Also in the comparison we are comparing two nouns so correct as cluase would be: as old a practice as Noah. (correct me if i am wrong in this)

I vote for C. The way I attack this type of confusing questions is by comparing the answer choices and using P.O.E. Out of the bat you can tell that you have a 3-2 way split: Idealized or Idealizing. Eliminate the idealizing, it sounds confusing. Second, go for the "is as old a practice" rather than the "is old as" because the adjective old must go in between the clause as....as
