Re: With diamonds, as with all gems, one should ask for a written descript [#permalink]
With diamonds, as with all gems, one should ask for a written description of one’s purchase; the description may prove useful later if you have reason to believe the jeweler misled you.

(A) one should ask for a written description of one’s purchase
'One' in the underlined part and 'you' in the non underlined part is not consistent.
(B) you should ask for a written description of your purchase
correct and consistent with teh 'you' in the non underlined part.
(C) a written discretion of your purchase is what one should ask for
'your' and 'one' is not consistent.
(D) a written description of one’s purchase is what should be asked for
No Acting noun, who is donig the action,in the non underlined part 'you' is used and this is inconsistent.
(E) a written description of your purchase is what should be asked for
No active noun, who is doing the action.
Hello isn’t the word “a written description “ a noun here ? And it has a verb ‘is’ . Why can’t it be the noun of the sentence? Could you please enlighten me ?
