With GMAT 570 do I still have my MBA chances alive?? [#permalink] New post 06 Jun 2013, 05:44
Hello,
Today I had my GMAT and secured 570 only (Q49,V20).
I have work experience of 1.7 years as Test Enngineer at Infosys (still working).
I have very good business exposure as I help, work in my father's business and active working from past 5 years.
My graduate aggregate is 79% out of 100%.
My target is Full Time MBA 2014 in US top 30 B school.
Can anyone please help me do I still have chances to enter top B-schools (forget top 10,20. I am talking about Carlson,Kelley, Wisconsin Madison, etc kind of)?

Or else attempting GMAT again is the only option.

Thanks for the posting.

As you know, you come from a competitive demographic and a 570 is low, especially when compared to your immediate peer group.

Your chances of gaining admissions to a top 30 program in the United States is low -- however, I would look at the following schools that are most open minded to candidates like yourself: Rochester (Simon), Washington U (Olin), Rice (Jones) and Thunderbird.

Also realize that your margin or error has been used up in the process so the rest of your application has to be top notch. If b-school is your goal, then I recommend investing in an admissions consultant to make sure that your applications are as strong as they can be.

Good luck.

Thank you so much for the reply. Is there any chance that if I come with some very good essays in the above listed like Wisconsin-Madison,Carlson,Kelley?? :?
Also can you evaluate my profile and do you recommend me to give GMAT again or else go forward with this to try luck in some good universities? :)

I strongly recommend that you take the GMAT again.

You can always try -- you never know unless you try and apply.

Thanks for the reply. Yes even I am planning to attempt GMAT again but not immediately. I am taking a gap of 45 days again for my preparation and meanwhile I'm planning to sketch my essays also. By th time I give my GMAT (Say July end), I'll also be ready with my essays and even if I score less than before, it may not effect my time. Please tell me how is this plan and is it really worth a plan??
