I would say B
The noun artist should be as close as possible to its modifying phrase, so it's B,C or D.
C sounds a bit off, the artsit captured the monkeys while sketching them.

Agree with all. B it is
A and E are out because of misplaced modifier.
C is so many problems to list, misplaced modifier, monkeys sketching artist and so forth
D sketch, capturing and moreover seems to indicate that the artist captured their antics

One more vote for B. "The artist" should appear after the modifier. C also maintains the tense.
