First post on here, reading up about B-school on the forums has been really insightful and useful for the last few months. Decided I'll give the GMAT a go as I think it would be a really good step for me. I want to aim for a 700+ as I think I could do it and it'll give me the best options, to apply for 2013/14.
So this morning I took my first practice test on the official GMAC software. So far, I have spent a week working through the batch of practice questions for each section, just to get a feel, and then took the test to put down a marker (and also to see if there was any point carrying on!)
My practice scores were;
PS - 14/15
DS - 12/15
CR - 13/15
RC - 15/15
SC - 9/15
Not too bad, I knew I would struggle with sentence correction, but I was pleased for a first attempt at each type of question.
So, the test results:
Q: 21/37 (7 DS wrong, 9 PS)
V: 29/41 (10 SC Wrong, 2 RC)610
I'm pretty pleased, but I'm looking for some advice on the following from some experience GMATers;
1) Sentence Correction - Its clear I have a weakness here, as I expected. My other verbals seem strong.
2) Quant - I was really disappointed by my score on there. I took the test before 9am. I also get the impression that the GMAC software isn't at tough as some practice tests. Is it representative of the actual test?
3) Finally, I've done some reading up around the new test in June. The new integrated reasoning seems like a combination of some quant questions and CR - logic is my strong point so it might be a big plus for me. Is there much material for this out there yet?
