Wordlimit on Applications- Particularly GSB [#permalink]

Hey Guys,
I am applying for part-time at GSB and I had a question in regards to word limit. How bad do you think it will look if I go over the 500 word limit for a particular essay by 12 words... or do you think i should just try and take it out to make it shorter:)

I would even venture to say that upto 550 or even close to 600 is fine. Call the school up or send them an email on how strict they are on word count.
Most schools state a word count mainly for an idea, they don't hold you at fault if you go over. Basically they have no word count feature in their system to state exactly how many words you used.
But to be on cautious side and not piss off your readers, you dont want to go too much over the limit. 12 words is not an issue.

Thanks agsfaltex... i actually called the school and they said that my 12 words were not bad but that if i get close to 600 they will ask us to cut it down... that was GSB's answer at least. so i guess try to stay within the 515 range... iw ouldnt get too close to 550 even
