IMO C

Work that is not finished is not work at all, it is merely a botch, a failure.

A. all, it is merely a botch, a failure. --- comma splice there should be a semi colon between the 2 independent clause
B. all, it is a botch merely, and a failure. ---wrong placement of adverb merely.
C. all; it is merely a botch, a failure.---- correct
D. all; the work merely is a botch and a failure.---- no need to repeat work as 'ít' refers to work
E. all; the work being merely a botch, a failure---same as d.

Yes, C it is. We need semicolon to join two independent clauses.

going with C, it's two separate sentences, and merely a botch, a failure is better than a botch merely, a failure

OA is"C"

OE: A semicolon is need to link two sentences. Of the choices with the semicolon, C is short and clear (and correct), D has merely in the wrong place, and E does not have a complete sentence after the semicolon
