(E)

from (1) : [x] (gr8est int of x)= 1, 2, 3, 4... Not Possible
from (2) : [x] = ....0, 1 Not Possible

Combining: we get [x] = 1
But Still we dont know what is {x}... So we cant comment on {x} = 1
So (E)..

Don't know what those boxes mean. Can you repost the question without them?

It does not matter. There are a lot of stuff like that in the real exam that you have no idea and ask yourself: What the hell does that mean.
So try to solve... This is the problem. Nothing else is given.

It is E. Because I have not understood a bit of it. 8-) 8-)

I appreciate if somebody makes the query clear. Exam day is different from all days before the exam, when we try to learn instead of doing some junk on the UNKNOWN queries

No more

Boksana,

You're right, but as we've said in other posts, the questions might be different, but they will be solvable. They won't be a series of hyroglyphic images. The problems on this board should reflect real GMAT questions, or at least, real GMAT topics. But they should not be used to distort, confuse, or generally scare the people taking the test. This question is not reflective at all of the real GMAT.

I understand the need to over do it - if we can do this we can do anything - but realize that most people will see this problem and simply go into hysterics.

So let's be clear: No problem this cryptic will ever be on the test. If you've studied what you're supposed to study, every problem will make sense.
