Answer E

from 1 x-y>-2, so it can be either negative or positive, this will not lead anywher hence insuff.

from 2. similarly this is also in sufficient.

On combining both we have, -6>-y>-2... but we dont know anything about x. so its also insufficient. hence answer is E
