xyz not equal to 0 is x(y+z)=0?

1) |y+z|= |y|+ |z|
2) |x+y|= |x| + |y|

Shouldnt this be A?

Can't be A, because we have no info about x.

Yeah but since from the question stem x can't equal zero, and from statement 1 y and z have the same sign, the value of x shouldn't matter right? The expression can't be equal to zero?

I take that back Apollo. You are right, x can`t be 0. In (A), even if they are the same or different integers, then we can definitively answer this question ---No.

Thanks for confirming. The OA that is given in these question sets can be dubious sometimes.

Question stem x not = 0 therfore the question is asking whether y and z have the same value with different signs or not.

from one it informs us with the following

that the distance from y to z on the number lines is equal to each individual distance (y,z) from zero added together ,this could only be true if they are at two different sides of zero....suff

from two

we ve got no info about Z ...insuff

Another vote for A
