y = (x+3)(x-2)(x+5), is x negative?

(1) y = 0
(2) x does not equal to 2

From statement 1:

If y equals 0, x should be -3, 2, or -5. x could be positive or negative.
Not sufficient.

From statement 2:

If x is not 2, x could be any number since y is not defined.
Not sufficient.

From statement 1 & 2:
If y equals 0 and x is not 2, x should be -3 or -5, both of which are negative.
Sufficient.

1. Solutions for equation x1=-3, x2=2, x3=-5 insufficinet.
2. insufficient.

Combining both, x=-3, -5 Sufficient to say x<0. C.
