Hi Paul!

I'm applying to Yale and would be able to submit my application by October 24th (Round 1 deadline) except I will not be able to visit the school by then. What is your opinion:

-Is it better to apply early without a visit
or:
-apply in round 2 but have visited

I'm only 6 hours drive away but I can't get off work to go and visit until November. Any insight would be truly appreciated.

EconGirl,

If your application is the best it can be then don't postponse submitting it simply because you haven't visited. Perhaps tell them somewhere in your app the actual when you will be visiting so they will know that you *definitely* will be coming. Never having made a campus visit hurts you less if your Why Yale section is meaty and persuasive and you mention your efforts to learn about Yale by talking to actual Yale people.

Good luck,
