I may make it to Yale R1, not sure if I'll manage - may well end up being R2.
Cornell is higher up on my list. It's a long story, but apparently the admissions office and the dean of Cornell now know me by first name, so I want to apply while this is fresh in their minds.
Please tell me all about your yale visit. I wont be able to go, just don't have the $$ (my HBS trip ran me the better part of $2K).
Happy to help however I can, so shoot away.

I submitted my app to Cornell on the 21st. Just waiting for my GMATs (second taken on 9/11) to get there and then it will be complete. Should make it there before first round deadline... I can write essays very, very quickly and my recommenders turn around in a week so making deadlines is not a problem for me.

I live close to Yale as well so may visit it, but its unlikely I will make it to Rd 1. Both Yale and Cornell are on the Rd 2 radar, will make a decision after I'm done fighting the first round.

Please dont apply to either. They are both on my R2 radar too and the less the competition, the better. I think you should uhm, go for Wharton or MIT in R2, yea thats the ticket...

I am trying for Yale and Darden Round 1. Yales Personal Statement is giving me a little bit of trouble because you can do so much with it - and at the same time you need to focus on yourself.
I am concerned about the word count restrictions as well - 500 isnt a lot to get your point across. Sure I can be concise but 500 is tight. I have read you can go over by 10% without pissing the ADCOM off but even at 550 - to write something truly remarkable is a tough task.
