First time posting my interview invite result. Just got an invite from Yale.
Wasn't 100% sure whether I'd get one given my relatively low GMAT score of 670. And no, I'm not URM or LGBT.
Dude, could you share your profile? Your GMAT is only 670?
What's your work history?
I am thinking of applying Yale in R3, please gimme some advice.
If you're interested in my profile, then you're a creep. Just kidding. I put my background info on a different thread for Admit/Ding results for 2012.
Still have yet to "pass" the interview and get the acceptance letter. If you're asking for my opinion as to what I had done to get the invite, then I say it may have to do with what I said or how I expressed my goals in my application. I don't think I have a track of stellar extracurricular activities to show off (rather, mines are quite limited) or received a lot of rewards to mitigate my relatively low GMAT score. However, when it comes to explaining my goals, short- and long-term, I strongly believe I made a very solid and logical statement in my essays.
So I don't think I'm in any position to give advices to a lot of people here in the forum (I mean, you guys have some monster track records). But if I were to provide my observation thus far, then it is that some of these top schools stop caring about the numbers at some point and start focusing on what each applicant can bring to their school and how much he/she can contribute.
BTW, I have been contacted by admissions office at some of the schools I applied. They were asking some questions or requesting items (i.e. can you please provide a short response to the following questions ,etc.) that were not found in the application; my application status also reflected that all my materials were complete and submitted for review. I guess they are still reviewing my application, but can I take their inquiries as (strong?) indication of interest?
