Waitlisted with interview.. Feeling really crappy tonight

Well atleast there's hope. I got dinged without interview. My profile must suck and this probably a sign of more dings to come from other schools.

Starting a calling all waitlist forum is a good idea, and would have been helpful if there was one last year.

Looking back through last yr's thread, the waitlist does not provide any hope to me. Didnt read all the way through, but didnt see a conversion to an accept. Is what it is at this point.

DBalks you're probably right...they did suggest to submit any additional materials ASAP, but having only applied a few months ago, I don't think anything substantial enough has occurred, I guess they mean submit as soon as you have something significant to share with the adcom?

So ding without interview it is! Yale was the only school I officially visited. I thought I had a good rapport with Bruce Delmonico and Christopher Grey, but oh well :|

Has anyone heard about scholarships?
The website says "All applicants are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships. No separate application is required. Merit scholarship recipients are notified at the same time that they are admitted."

I asked on the phone. They said they have very limited merit-based scholarships which they share when they make admissions decisions.

Waitlisted without an interview. Didn't know that was an option at all. Probably should've given them a visit when I was up at Tuck. Love the program on paper, but haven't been to the SOM part of Yale.

Same here...seems strange but it was def a pleasant surprise to me...it's encouraging to hear that the waitlist does see at least some movement, best of luck to waitlisters and congrats to all accepted! Maybe I'll start a waitlist forum just to keep tabs on any movement?

Big congrats with the scholarship, too. And congrats all around to the admits.

Congrats to everyone who received good news today. I just wanted to say there is hope for those who were wait listed. I was WL this time last year and am currently preparing for my investor final tomorrow at Yale. I remember searching for any indication of statistics of people being picked up off the wait list. They don't release the numbers but people are accepted off the list every year. I actually received an acceptance on January 23rd. So it may be shorter than you think, and it is definitely worth the wait!

Thanks for the good news! Did you give them any updates or anything or was it just too quick of a turnaround?

Certainly don't know if that's a good thing or bad think (wl w/o interview). They liked us enough to keep us around sans interview, but not enough to interview us from the get go. A WL thread would be solid, if for the very least, we could plot attacks on those vile R2 and R3 candidates! :P

Dbalks started the Yale Waitlist thread: calling-all-yale-som-2013-waitlisted-applicants-144114.html
Post in that thread to add yourself to the rollcall.
Good luck everyone! Hopefully once March 1 rolls around, there will be some movement.
