You have two positive integers x1 and x2. When x1 is divided by 3, the remainder is 1, and when x2 is divided by 12, the remainder is 4. Let y = 2*x1 + x2. What can you conclude about y?

I. y is even

III. y is divisible by 3

(D) I and III only
(E) II and III only

X1=3K+1
X2=12N+4

Y=2*X1+X2=6K+12N+6

the number is even and divisible by 3. This is for sure.
