razrulz, think again, in E you could be missing something really insignificant but important.

D it is!

Only D & E come close, and E has pronoun problemo.

Can someone clarify why the usage of "they" in D has a clear referent while the usage in E doesn't.

In (I think) "they" can refer to eating habits or the ballet dancers.

I select D.

D clearly links "because of their desire to be as thin as possible" to you ballet dancers

E does not do that.

Can "they" refer to "eating habits".
I thought "they" is refering to "ballet dancers" or "gymnasts" or both of them together.

Good one.

I thought the answer is E but after reading through the replies D seems to be the correct one.

Now i see it, thnks...

Agree ."They" points to good habits. This changes the meaning of the sentence, hence E is incorrect.
