The professors are good , classes are well organised though there is definitely some mismanagement at school's end for sure.
So far the experience has been positive, still Looking for summer internship, the downfall of economy , current recession has certainly slowed down the recruitment cycle , specific to international students.
For Locals or say US citizen its still strong.
We are getting interviews but its really difficult to convert them due hiring freeze and limitation in visa sponsorship.
Ultimately its not the school's fault, i will say its because the situation is tough.
The curriculum is good , though i feel the overhyped core SEM class that everyone will talk about is a big big let down .
Rummel and JB are good and then chellapa is a gem of a professor.
Other atleast in core are okay 👍
Electives - well i am taking them now so far so good...
Placement process is self driven, u have to have a clear mind where u want to apply, school will provide opportunities and its up to u how well u can cope up with it.
Still in search mode...so can't say its excellent nor can i say its poor at school's end ..

Emory is not a good b-school program - this is telling in a few different areas: the academic staff, the facilities, their covid 19 response, and their career services.
Avoid and consider another school, don't make the same mistake I did please...
Goizueta is struggling to maintain professors for their life. Each semester, their class offerings get slimmer and slimmer, and students with diverse interests are left with little variety in classes to take. This is reflected by professors constantly leaving and being replaced with mediocre professors. Most classes here (I should say there are some exceptions) will leave you with feeling of jokes - be prepared for professors to be openly hostile and dismissive to students.
From a pre-pandemic standpoint, the building is inadequate. You share resources with undergrad BBA students, which on paper is fine, but in practice means that you have no space to study, conduct coffee chats, or hangout on campus. The Goizueta building is in dire need of renovations - the biggest room can barely fit in the class size.
The school decided that the optimal way to respond to classes moving online would be to increase tuition. Very rich of them... So for an experience that costs them less to administer, you end up paying more. They claim to be leaders in diversity, and working towards an inclusive class -- how can you even make these claims with a straight face when your class is 70% male.
While the school does maintain an expansive career network in and around Atlanta , the career student services are awful! I saw a career coach tell a student face to face that they are not ready for an interview. That's great energy. They do get companies on campus, I will say that - but be prepared to do all the interview prep and work yourself. They don't help. Also, if you're interested in recruiting outside of Atlanta, be prepared to do all the work yourself.

Incompetent professors & administration. For such a well known program it seems like everything is stuck together with chewing gum and paperclips.
Our first semester a professor quit at the last moment and they had to shorten the class (a foundational introductory class that was meant to teach us a lot of statistics and other concepts we would NEED for future classes) to half a semester and get a backup professor to teach it. Now our entire class of 2020 basically has a shoddy foundational knowledge base for doing any sort of statistical analytics.
This past semester students were so upset about a class that we took that they demanded refunds of their tuition because we didn't learn anything of value. This was the second class the entire 2020 body was upset about and it is only our second semester!
Also the evening MBA administration and professors are completely unwilling to accommodate your work schedules. This is an EVENING program and they will have "mandatory" events scheduled for 2:00 PM on a Friday. I'm three semesters in and regret not going to Georgia Tech every day.
We have had 2 professors that have been incredible, so it is not all bad, however I am sorely disappointed in the program as a whole. I expected much more.
A silver lining however is that my classmates are for the most part incredibly talented individuals who are also shocked at how this program is mismanaged. I have learned much more from them than I have from *most* of my classes.
We have not yet started recruiting however I do hear that Emory is very strong in placements and relationships with good companies. If you can handle the disorganization and irritation of the administration of the program itself, I imagine you will get placed very well through the recruitment process.
I do not have any confidence in how well I will be prepared to take on a higher level consulting or managerial position after this program though.

I am planning to do my mba in IT from georgia tech. Is it that bad? As i surf around , many good website and student experience calim it is the best mba for IT. What are your thoughts?

Hi Ritace - Yes, bb is correct. The review is not for Georgia Tech, it is for Emory. I have several acquaintances who are either currently in the GT program or have finished it, and they had a good experience there.

There are a lot of things that I really like about Goizueta - the Professors, courses, peer group, facilities
There are a few things that could be improved significantly - brand value needs to be improved outside of Atlanta and the career services needs to bring in more tech firms to campus.
There are amazing options to stay within a mile of the campus (Emory point, Campus Crossings, Post Briarcliff) and the facilities in the campus (sports center, library) are amazing.
The alumni are extremely response and supportive. However, as the class size is one of the smallest, the alumni network isn't as large as some of the other schools.
Some of the professors are really good and I've been able to learn a lot in their classes. e.g. Microeconomics by Prof. Ray Hill, Marketing Management by Prof. Ryan Hamilton, Process, Systems and Management by Prof. Ram Chellappa
The school attracts a lot of good companies, particularly in Consulting and Marketing. As with most schools currently, the situation for international students isn't the most ideal and it's certainly a uphill battle in terms of recruiting. Goizueta isn't exactly known for Tech and that's primarily because of the location. For Tech recruiting, networking and off-campus opportunities will be your best bets.

The small class size creates a very intimate and collaborative culture in the program, with everybody knowing all their classmates, including candidates from senior batches as well as other MBA programs like 1-yr MBA and MSBA. Alumni is always helpful when reached out to, and 2nd years provide a lot of help in career coaching and counselling. Most of the faculty is really good with some outstanding faculty present as well. The IMPACT program is a unique and interesting takeaway. It coaches students on a lot of aspects of "Day 1 readiness". It is especially helpful for those aspiring to become consultants and bankers, but also to everyone in general. The 2nd part of the program involves a real-world client project, which lets students get their hands dirty and experience the real world situations in business.
Excellent opportunities and resources are available- including the library. It's upto the students to make maximum use of these resources. Overall, a very strong program with a lot of students opting for the consulting, banking, general management, and marketing sectors for jobs.

while I agree about recruitment for internationals, I find the school is doing well according to the employment report of 2017. There is 93% accepted offers and 94% received offer. So there are still many internationals recruited this year.

I wanted to move into Consulting so I have to admit the school offered an opportunity to interview with all the big consulting firms.
The career services were quite helpful while preparing for case prep and interview preparation. The Consulting club is great and very supportive.
The marketing club is strong too. There are lots of events and opportunities to interact with alumni and professors in the marketing field.
Some professors really stood out for me. Prof. Hamilton in marketing is amazing. Prof. Ray Hill who teaches Economics is incredible and will really challenge you.
The weather is a huge benefit of the school and the sports facilities are fabulous. The library is huge and the facilities overall are just awesome!
The IMPACT course is a massive and hugely helpful. Great course and makes the Goizueta program unique.
Tech recruiting is very very limited at Goizueta so if that's your area of interest, it's not the best option.

Totally met my expectations. I was thinking about a couple of different schools in the southeast and Emory undoubtedly is one of the best schools to consider including UVA, UNC. I liked Emory a lot more due to their location, size and commitment to the individual having a very positive experience. I ultimately went into strategy and business development for a health care company and have been able to leverage my amazing network. I interned in investment banking in new York city at a bulge bracket bank where I got a lot of exposure and learned a lot. Also e hours great recruiting opportunities for marketing, consulting as well as general management. 100% of my classmates found jobs and internships.

Very strong courses in analytics, marketing and strategy. While I honed in my hard skills, the most benefit I saw from the program was in building up my leadership capabilities. Great location for post-MBA career opportunities. As a career switcher without any prior formal business background and eduction, it was a rough start and a very steep learning curve - with very few exceptions, professor body was extremely supportive and helpful throughout the program. Great resources for career research and planning. Plenty of networking opportunities. Has a vast alumni network in the Atlanta area - across all programs (full time, part time, executive).

I'm from Atlanta so it was a very easy choice. The school tends to attract a large international contingent from Asia. Heavily represented by Korea, China, Japan and India.
The Career Center was great. All the top tier consulting firms come on campus.
For I-Banking many students make the trek up to NYC. The placement is great and exceeded my expectations.
You are in an assigned Core group the first semester of your first year where they aim to create a diverse group. You will definitely create some lasting friendships. The professors are also very approachable due to the small class size.

Looking back on my decision process over a year ago, it was a tough decision. I was accepted to multiple schools, some much higher ranked and some lower ranked than Emory. I can confidently say at this point though, that all my nights spent pondering which school to attend were not in vain. Emory was an excellent decision. Here's why I think so:
Going to business school is about moving into a new career, so it was important to me that my school set me up in the best way possible. Goizueta's statistics of placement and average salary hint that they have great career services, but I can tell you it is true. They put tons of competitive candidates into consulting, I-banking and marketing each and every year. I was interested in consulting and was astounded by the success of my class in this industry both in number of offers and starting salaries.
Another reason to attend business school is to build relationships. Whether it's just meeting some new friends, building a network, or meeting an SO, the class size here really is pivotal for that. I have made some awesome, lifelong friends at the school, and there is no one in my class that I don't know.
The level of education you will get at Goizueta is on par with any business school I would imagine. We have very impressive professors here from all aspects of business; MBB partners, CFOs, entrepreneurs, private equity fund managers. The required curriculum itself is constantly under development/improvement, but after the first semester you will be able to pick most of your classes (I stuck with the professors I liked most).
To anyone considering Goizueta, think about where you want to be for the few years after business school and your long term goals. We are in Atlanta, it's a great city with probably the most career opportunities in the southeast. Goizueta does well with recruiting across the board, but they are off-the-charts good in Atlanta. If you want to stay in this part of the country it's a great place to get a good foothold in a new industry. That being said, it admittedly does not have the name recognition of most top business schools (yet). Depending on your ultimate career path this may or may not be acceptable to you.
When I was looking at business schools I placed a lot of importance on education quality. Emory has great professors and a great curriculum. I have a military and engineering background (no business at all) and I feel confident that I can sit in front of a partner and talk business.
You will find yourself stretched to your wit's end at Goizueta when you are in the peak of recruiting season and the core curriculum. I can almost guarantee you won't be sitting back and saying, "This is too easy". You're going to love it, you're going to learn a ton, but you're going to be more worried about finding a job than your classes soon enough.
I'll quickly talk through some key recruiting information by industry at Goizueta:
Consulting - We are recruited by all firms (ALL of them) in some way, shape or form. You will have exposure and an opportunity to work at any firm you desire, provided that you have the scores, resume and casing skills to get you past the resume drop.
I-Banking - Equally so. I'm not a banker but it seems we have people going to a ton of different banks from boutique to gigantic firms. Bankers fly to NY when recruiting and most people go back to NY to work full-time, although there is a large bank here in ATL (which to me seems like the best of all worlds for banking).
Marketing- All types of companies are handing out full time offers as we speak. I'm not extremely in tune with this so I won't say more than that.
Tech - I thought that Emory wouldn't be the best place to look for a job back in San Francisco, but it turns out we actually have put several students into jobs at Amazon & Google among others this year.
P.E. - At Emory we have a started a center for alternative investments, which has really been gaining momentum and attracted attention from private equity firms in the area. P.E. in general is a tough industry to get into because they are mostly small firms relatively speaking (5-10 man shops) , but a few people do it almost every year. Recruiting in this area is even tougher because generally you don't get an offer until you are about to graduate.
