Veritas was excellent at helping me prepare for the GMAT. I found myself very easily internalizing the strategies the instructors taught and applying them on the test itself. It got to the point that I would analyze the questions and answers in the same style (and, occasionally, the same voice) as my instructors. The Veritas books are exceptionally good at distilling down the core concepts, and providing plenty of practice material to become a true master of each style of question. The instructors are also incredibly personable and make a point of making themselves available as resources both during the course and after.

The course goes over a lot of great tips to decode many of the GMAT tricks. It's also a great way to review everything that will be covered and give a well-rounded approach. The instructor David was great at keeping the class engaged. The problem is that with 3 hour lesson, probably about 2 hours is actual learning. With "dumb" questions from other students and random stories, I felt like time was wasted. Devoting 6 hours a week after work, plus all the homework and skillbuilder lessons was extremely time consuming. If an hour could have been cut out, it would have been great.

I found myself missing the regularly scheduled classes just so I could watch later and fast forward through the chatting and over-explaining. That being said, I would highly recommend my instructor. He was extremely knowledgeable and highly motivating.

As a mature student applying for the GMAT for the first time, I found this course very good. The Veritas prep program has undergone major course changes in light of the new GMAT exam.

The instructor David was excellent. the course books had some mistakes but David was good enough to point them out. I found that he took the time to explain each section properly and in easy to understand language.

I very much enjoyed this course and would recommend it to any one with a very hectic schedule. Also for people who have been out of school for a long time.

Due to geography and job commitments, taking an on location course was out of the question for me. Still, I needed some serious help to get myself prepared for the GMAT. I have been out of school for long enough to suffer total atrophy on my quantitative skills. I needed a program to at least establish a foundation to continue to build on.

With the Veritas Prep online format I was able to enjoy a classroom type structure with an engaged and personable instructor, all while managing my tight schedule. The program gave me the building blocks for future success,

I have just completed the course and I can safely say that I have the skills and direction to continue my studying in a constructive way.

I'm on a six month study plan, and I love that I have year long access to the Veritas Program.

I would recommend online tutoring to anyone who is serious about maximizing their preparation time. Group courses are useful, but tutoring allows you to learn at your pace and to focus on those question types which give you the most difficulty. It is the most efficient way to fix your weaknesses. The GMAT is not difficult if you prepare correctly.

I paid for 28 hours of online tutoring with Veritas. I was assigned David Newland as my instructor. It was the best money I could have spent. Within six weeks of working with David, I scored 770 and 760 on the GMAT Prep Software PP1 and PP2 tests. On the real exam I scored 700 (90%), comprising Quant 47 (73%) and Verbal 39 (88%). The drop between the PP tests and the real test was mostly due to nerves and bad time management on the day.

Could I have scored 700+ without David? Probably not given I only had six weeks to prepare. David was excellent. With 8+ years of GMAT experience he knows how to solve every question the test can throw at you. He explained methodology in a clear and easy to apply fashion. He was also flexible and we could frequently schedule sessions on short notice.

The GMAT is one of the most important aspects of your MBA application. Yes the rest of your application matters, but in reality if you want to be competitive in applying to the good schools you need a strong GMAT.

Tutoring is worth it.

Taking the class online worked very well with my schedule. My teacher was very thorough and effective.

I watched the "On Demand" lessons in addition to the live online lectures. Although these recorded lectures were thorough, I am glad that I purchased the Full Course with the live lectures.

I was in the military, and over those four years I forgot much of what is tested on the GMAT. Unfortunately, I went and took the GMAT almost completely unprepared. I enrolled in the Full Course of Veritas a month later in order to better guide my study schedule. After completion of the live lectures, I watched the On Demand lectures and worked through the workbooks for practice. I took the GMAT a second time less than a month after finishing the live lectures, scoring 90 points (29 percentile) higher.

I would highly recommend the Full Course of Veritas to anyone preparing for the GMAT.

The class gave me all the material and instruction I need it to improve my score. Also, I took the course a second time to review certain sections and it only took me seconds to have access to another class.

The only problem I saw with the class was that the instructor did not have extra 5-10 minutes at the end of the class to go over specific questions that students may have about other sections not discussed in that class. Other than that, the instructor always tried to keep a dynamic class, he was really motivational, funny, and responsive.

Bought the online package off Gilt City -- got a really good deal, more than 50% off the original cost of the class.

Class was great -- David Newland is basically a verbal stud and provided so many helpful tools outside of what Vertias usually includes. Going into the class I knew I needed to work on a little of everything, especially data sufficiency since I was so unfamiliar with the question type. Could literally hear my instructor's voice while taking the actual GMAT.

While taking the class, I didn't have the time to do the homework/problems when they were assigned since I'm still in school. But I seriously think these books are golden. Basically took the class from November to December 2011, studied a little in the beginning of January, and literally did not look at anything GMAT related before a week before my appointment in March. The week before the test I dedicated several hours every day to studying for the GMAT and would try to get through at least 2 Veritas books a day. These books are FILLED with practice problems that are so similar to the actual exam. Aside from the diagnostic test in OG and one of the GMATPrep practice exams, I only looked at Veritas materials.

Disregard the score improvement. Never took a diagnostic test that actually told me my score, but I did the diagnostic in the Official Guide and scored in the above average range for most of the sections -- ended up with a 740 on GMAT.
