Overall, I found this course to be brilliant. I chose the "Premium" pack, as I thought 6 months was a good time period. I thought this pack was quite expensive, however it proved to be worth it for me in the end.

In particular, I found it very advantageous that I didn't have to select my own study material and grind through it. I liked that I could just set aside time to study, and the course would walk me through everything I needed to know. I did find that it did not cover AWA or IR in much detail, although the AWA template they suggest is great.

On the first practice exam I took (after no study) I scored a 560. This was during the "free trial" via the iPad app. I wanted to score a 650+ for the courses I'm targeting, though thought I was capable of early 700's with the time I had to prepare over 6 months. I found I had to get back into "exam mode", not having taken any intense exams since uni finished 8 years ago.

After the course, some study of my own and two official GMATPrep exams (~100hrs in the course, ~50hrs of my own study) I scored as follows:
AWA: 5.5/6
IR: 8/8
Quant: 47
Verbal: 44
Combined: 730

Pros:
- Well structured course.
- Covers the content of the GMAT well.
- Adaptive coursework systems worked well for me.
- If you are disciplined and put in the hours, your skills (and score) will improve significantly.
- Tutoring sessions were good, it was comforting to talk to someone with a lot of experience with the GMAT (I don't know anyone else who's undertaken this exam).
- Practice exams give a good ballpark of where you are currently at, and build up your exam taking stamina well.

Cons (minor):
- No AWA or IR sections on the practice exams (V/Q only), although you can time yourself and practice these in addition when doing a practice exam.
- Not much coverage for AWA or IR in the course, other than a couple of IR questions, and the AWA template.
- AWA essay marking was quite harsh (although I understand this is encouraged by Economist) and sometimes the critical comments were not helpful.

I never really used the Ask a Tutor function, as I never really found a question that the course didn't explain well enough that I needed further info.

I am also a native English speaker (who communicates a lot in my day job), and so had a natural advantage in the Verbal and AWA sections.

I have taken two preparation courses. The first was the Veritas prep and the second the manhattan prep.

My first course was taken 2 years ago - the books were ok (at the time they seemed very good but after using the MGMAT prep ones I find the Veritas below average).

I found this course a great refresher on test fundamentals but lots of extra practice required. I cannot perform well only with this course as it content is done only to well the 550 / 600 achievers.

In my opinion you don't have to spend to much money to learn the content for a 600 score. But, if you spent, go for Manhattan Prep.

Its True: Manhattan GMAT provides students with the skills and strategies essential for success !

The course is very comprehensive given you the opportunity to improve your skills in each of the section tested on Gmat Exam.

The course is special good for the ones who want to improve the quant score - i notice that the mocks exams on quant section are harder than the real exam.

My improvement on quant section were from Q37 to Q47.

Notice that our score really depends on the work he put into studying plan. With discipline, focus, and a time, he can achieve our dream score.

Must have for SC section December 12 | 2015

I would like to recommend the e-Gmat course to as a must have for your SC section preparation.

I get an improvement from V25 to V35 with the e-gmat verbal online. My improvement is mainly due to the SC section. The SC course is a must have for a non-native. The course presents all the gramar rules you should know in a very intuitive way.

Only 15 days were enough to see a considerable improvement in my skills.

The RC and CR are also good but don't expect a good improvement if you already learn the methodology from other companies.

Try and you will enjoy it!

I was able to improve from a 580 to 720 (Q47 V41 AWA6 IR7) after just two months with Empower! I did use another test prep company right before Empower to brush up on the basic concepts, but I really believe the tactics and tricks Empower teaches are worth preaching and are refreshingly different compared to those of other companies. During the exam, knowing when to trash a question was absolute key during the quant section.

I took a GMATprep practice test 2 weeks before my exam date and I got a 660. I was so disappointed and almost lost hope that I could obtain my dream score. But I tried my hardest anyway and what I think made the biggest difference was focusing on the verbal section. The same amount of points in verbal meant so much more than the same amount of points in quant. That was something I never would've realized without Empower. THANK YOU!! I should probably mention my quant score only improved 3 points since day 1! Without Empower I wouldn't even know how to study smart and use my time efficiently.

Now I am able to apply to my target schools knowing that my GMAT will not be the reason I do not get in.

I definitely recommend this program to anyone who's interested in taking the GMAT.

I am an IITian but after working on repetitive tasks for about 12 years made my sharp brain a bit slow and when I gave some mocks back in 2013 I was very disheartened with my results, That kind of affected my confidence as not only I was not able to go beyond 30-34 in verbal but also couldn't manage 50 in quant and that time I thought I needed a serious plan and material to practice with after analysing my techniques I figured out that my concepts and their application was not spot on and because of that I was wasting a lot of time too. Then through gmat club and online reviews I found e-gmat. Although I could not study for another 2 years because of work and personal stuff but now I am back on track to sit for GMAT and I am lot more confident in quant as well as in verabal. This is by far be the best online course I have ever seen and any hard copy or soft copy material. I would recommend e-gmat to anyone without thinking twice, money well spent. I have never thought concepts would look that easy to me.

MGMAT -- Excellent (but you can self prep) December 07 | 2015 1 out of 1 people found the following review helpful

Part of my debrief includes my feelings on MGMAT:
http://gmatclub.com/forum/second-try-is-the-charm-710-48-q-38-v-79956.html

In a nut shell, learning as a 20+ something is much more difficult than learning as a 8-20 year old. The older you get, the more set you become in your ways (yes all ways), so if you have subconscious tendencies that are wrong educationally (math, grammar, etc.) it will be VERY difficult to get over those obstacles on your own. MGMAT puts a lot of emphasis to help you understand the "why" aspect of getting answers incorrectly. Obviously, a 1:1 is much more helpful, but the program does cater to this. The instructors are top notch, the material is excellent, but you as a student must invest the time to utilize these resources.

The flip side is self prep is possible, but you really need to invest the time to identify these tendencies and overcome them (the importance of the error log). No matter what you decide, the GMAT is a test that can be overcome, but you must invest in what your needs are (there isn't a one size fits all).

The class is well worth the money.

A must enroll course for Non-natives for Verbal December 06 | 2015

Once I decided to give GMAT, I heard a range of facts and myths related to the preparation. One such myth was that the people, who are either avid readers or native speakers can only get a good score good in verbal section. The fact that I was neither of the two, scared me out of my wits and this thought was somewhere stuck in my head. Even though I tried to learn theory and practiced questions, I was unable to identify the cause of my mistakes. To add to my woes was my inability to sustain my concentration till the end of verbal section. These shortcomings were reflected in my first attempt of GMAT, where I had scored 32 in verbal.

After taking a break of a month, I decided to begin with my prep again. It was during this time one of friends told me about eGMAT verbal course. I attended the free sessions and was impressed with the way the concepts were taught. The sessions were great eye openers, and pretty easy to understand. This prompted me to enroll for eGMAT verbal course.

The course is very well-structured, and helps in understanding of all the concepts, including the tough ones such as modifiers. I realized the importance of understanding the meaning of question and the need of pre-thinking the argument. Scholaranium section is an added bonus. The timed practice of scholaranium questions gets once face to face with their strengths and weaknesses. In-fact, this section helped me evaluate and rectify my mistakes.

The eGMAT Verbal course made me feel more confident and removed the apprehensions related to verbal section. Again a big thanks to eGMAT team for their wonderful course. I would like to strongly recommend this course to every non-native speaker for the verbal prep.

nice package December 06 | 2015

I signed up Verbal Online package after going through various reviews on gmatclub. It cost $199 when I bought it. I would recommend that any student who would like to improve on verbal, must go for this.

E-GMAT has this really effective method of teaching of breaking up the sentences and teaching the minute GMAT grammer rules. In such way, you need not remember all the rules except few. Before this course, I was unable to understand why the correct answer is correct and why the incorrect one in incorrect. This is a problem with almost all native speakers. E-gmat course helped me understand the basic idea of how to read and understand the meaning of the given question and then answer it effectively.

The one more good part of this course is scholarium, where you can test your skills. Its an access with huge number of question banks. It gives you graphical representation of your performance on both accuracy and ability.
It also give you performance info on various topics as well.

Overall I would say it a nice package. I am satisfied with the quality and they way they have tried to put this all together.

Video explanations of Magoosh are really good . Magoosh prep will help to brush up all basics . When I started my preparation for gmat , I was looking for some online classes which will help me in the right direction and Magoosh gave that confidence .

Coming to question bank it is limited , and same questions are popping up during full length tests as well . full length tests are not giving the right picture of my preparation . Though video explanation for each question is very helpful.

I would say , Magoosh is good for kick starting ones preparation .

Support from Magoosh team was fantastic !!!!
